Why choose Traditional Recreational Soccer?
Our focus is player development and to provide a fun experience. This program provides players the opportunity to receive more instruction and valuable game day experience. Our Recreational Soccer Program provides a great foundation for players to advance to more competitive soccer programs.
How do I register my player for the recreational soccer program?
Online Registration is OPEN and can be found under the Registration listings at the bottom of this webpage. We will also be hosting Walk-up Registrations so make sure to check our calendar of events and Facebook page for these dates.
Who coaches the teams?
Recreational Coaches are typically parents of players that have chosen to volunteer to be a Head Coach, Assistant Coach or Team Manager. Duluth Soccer Academy provides coaches with training equipment (such as cones, training bibs etc), practice programs and Rules of Play for games, so coaches can be successful, and players can develop while having fun!
If you are interested in volunteering as a Head Coach, Assistant Coach or Team Manager, please sign up to volunteer when registering you player(s).
When are practices and games?
Practices are held Monday through Thursdays and start between 5:30pm and 7:00pm (specific practice times are scheduled based on field availability and the volunteer coach's availability). The frequency of practices varies based on age group (see chart below for additional practice information). Games are held on the weekends, primarily on Saturdays however occasionally games could be played on Sundays (typically due to inclement weather cancellations). All practices and home games will be at Bunten Park. We occasionally partner with other clubs in the Norcross/Duluth Area for additional games during the season and those games could be played at Bunten or at the other club’s home field. These other clubs are within a 25-minute drive from Bunten Park.
